The super bowl is now in the rear view mirror and the season is history and football fans everywhere are mourning the loss of the best sport in the world as the NFL finished up on yet another brilliant season. So what is the avid football fan to do? What about the avid football bettor? Most football bettors will stick with hoops for March Madness but that is mostly about office pools and watching games during a work day when normally you would have nothing. Football bettors cringe at the though of even attempting to bet on a baseball game and so find themselves searching for answers on how to keep themselves busy and more importantly winning money in the off-season.

Now most players and front office folks will find the time to get a vacation in and so should you over the dog days of summer but that doesn’t mean that you can’t keep up on the NFL. Plenty of football players and football executives like to take care of some issues in the off season so they can pay the penalty when there are no games being played. This off-season for example spy gate is still very much in the news and if gets bigger suspensions may be coming for coaches. That could affect the team when it’s time to kickoff next season. It also is time for Pac-man Jones to return to the NFL after serving his suspensions, but where will he end up? That is the next angle to cover.
Free-Agent pools:
Every year there are some big names available for the highest bidder and this year is no different. Mcnabb and Moss are just a few names and faces that can be switching teams. The smaller names that are on the trading block can be just as important if they get into the right system the bettor will find that tracking all of the free agent moves are important. If the bettor waits to the last moment they mind find themselves scrambling to see what player went to what team. This will give you an edge when handicapping in the early season.
Draft Day!
To all football fans draft day is always a big event and as well it should be. All of the team’s battle to trade, draft and acquire the players to fill the positions they need and build for the future at the same time. If you don’t have time to block off three days and watch the entire draft at least look at some of the scorecards. Some experts will put out a score card each year describing the highlights and the lowlights of the draft.
